The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the party access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
